Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home having a combined gross residence income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined family money will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not post any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 nsfas status check 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds nsfas status people who are researching or plan to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public nsfas status universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
